We're searching Irish colleges and universities to find the Future Business Leader of the Year. We're looking for commercially minded, entrepreneurial students who aspire to make a real impact in their career.

‍To enter you need to:

Be a commercially minded, entrepreneurial student who aspires to make a real impact in their career.
Be passionate about food.

Be an undergraduate student in Food Business.

Be in your penultimate or final year at university

Be on track to attain a 2:1.

Have the right to work in the European Union after graduation.

Spend a day with Aldi’s National Buying Department where you will gain an incredible insight into how Aldi operates. See how teams such as produce, branding, sustainability and plastics & packaging work together to drive Aldi’s success.

What makes an award winner?

Ambitious, and determined students are what we are looking for. We’d like to attract students who are working towards a career in food business. They will hold the drive and ambition to generate innovative strategies, directly contributing to Aldi’s product lifecycle. They will have direct involvement in Buying, Marketing, Communications, New Product Development and competitor analysis, so they will need to be proactive and take initiative.

We’re keen to meet those who love working with people in afast-paced, challenging but highly rewarding environment.

Receive an email inviting you to complete three assessments designed exclusively by our partner SHL.

Your details & online assessments must be submitted and completed by 2nd of February 2026.

If you are successful in getting through to the next stage, you will hear from us by 18th of February 2026.

Assessment centre

The top 10/15 shortlisted candidates will be reviewed by Aldi.

The process to determine the award winner may involve a virtual or face-to-face interview.

This will be confirmed by the sponsor at a later date.

Grand final

The final shortlist of ten students will be invited to the awards ceremony on the 1st of April 2026, at the Aviva Stadium where the award winners will be announced.
